New Casual Luxury for Men from Jobst

Against the unfortunate backdrop of the worst economic conditions in several generations, Jobst (BSN Medical) has introduced their new ultra-soft, luxurious men’s compression socks, named “Casual“. The timing may not have been auspicious but the product is a remarkable breakthrough in terms of style and comfort. It deserves a look for those that can afford a product of this caliber.

“Comfort” has usual benefits we have come to expect from Jobst Medical Legwear with added anti-odor formula in the footbed, comfort knee-band and graduated compression to help keep the sock snug and prevent slipping. Jobst has added 4% wool and has woven the fibers to create a finished product that looks and feels like cashmere. Coated fibers give additional strength and durability, which is essential in a top-of-the-line product. Dri-Release® yarns help keep the foot cool and dry. The sock is woven in a unique yet elegant design with ten wide-whale ribs running vertically up the leg.

Jobst “Casual” for men is a knee-high available in support levels of 15-20, 20-30, and 30-40 mmHg compression and in the colors of khaki or back. The khaki is on a dark side which makes it ideal for summer-weight khaki pants or jeans. The black can be worn year ‘round.

In addition to sizes Small, Medium, Large and X-Large, there is a Tall version for men with feet over a size 12 or length from floor to bend in knee over 19 ¾”.The Wide-Calf version in Large and Extra-Large sizes offers room for calves with a circumference of up to 24″.

Jobst Casual stockings promote continuous relief from tired, aching legs and discomfort associated with pronounced varicose veins and edema, even following sclerotherapy or vein surgery.

Which donning glove is right for you?

Donning gloves are the easiest, cheapest and most effective tool available to help you put on your stockings. Donning gloves allow you to grip and pull on the sheerest of compression hosiery while helping to prevent snags, runs or poke holes. They also provide your fingers with a little extra leverage which can be very helpful for people with arthritis or difficulty with hand mobility.  We carry four brands of donning gloves; Jobst, Mediven, Juzo and Sigvaris.   The Jobst donning glove is unique because it is actually a cotton mitt with the palm and fingers dipped in a latex solution to grip onto support hose.  It is a loose fitting glove which can be easier to put on for people with limited hand mobility.  On the downside, there are no ridges or nubs on the latex which limits it’s ability to move stockings up the leg.  We have heard from customers that this glove wears out too quickly. Comes in sizes small for women and medium for men.  $5.95

The Mediven donning glove currently has a 100% approval rating from customer feedback.  It looks like a basic latex dish washing glove but has textured fingers and palms for additional gripping power.  This will help you get the compression stocking over your foot and heal.  Then you can use your palms to slide the hose up your legs rather than pulling. Available in an orange color in sizes medium for women and large for men.  $4.40

The Sigvaris donning glove also currently has a 100% customer approval rating.  It also looks like a basic latex dish washing glove.  The ridges are very pronounced and the glove is durable.  Another bonus is that is available in small, medium, large and x-large.  We at Brightlife Direct usually try to stay neutral as we are confident in all of our products, but based on the feedback we hear from customers, the green Sigvaris donning glove at $5.75, is the leader of the pack.
