2XU is one of, if not the most popular, running and performance compression sock on the market. They use the best quality yarns to knit a sock that is extremely comfortable and durable.
My first 2XU wear test – style: MA2442e Performance Run Socks for Men
Friday 8am: Today I’m going to sit behind a desk for 8 hours. I take the socks out of the box, which is pretty cool by the way, and put them on. There’s a right and left foot, and I get it right! Very soft, great elasticity, and a perfect length. If the foot feels this comfortable at the end of the day, I’m going to love these socks.
Friday 7:30pm: Have barely thought about my socks all day, a sign of real comfort. The top band is exactly where I placed it getting dressed in the morning. Legs feel great, feet are dry. No wrinkling over the instep, a problem I have with a lot of compression stockings.
Saturday: Laundry day
Sunday 8:30am: It’s supposed to be partly sunny today, with highs in the 60’s, and rather humid. Have a full day of activities planned with our Security Chief, Oslo. Time to give the 2XU’s another try. We go to the Dupont Farmer’s Market, S Street dog park, and paint store before lunch. After a burrito and kibble, it’s time for a hike in Rock Creek Park.
Sunday 6pm: 2XU will be added to the socks I wear on a regular basis. I don’t run, but do lead a very active life, and compression socks make my legs feel better.
Follow-up: I wore another pair of 2XU yesterday. If I could, I’d be barefoot all day. The foot portion on these socks is so comfortable, I don’t notice it…as close to barefoot as I can get at the office. The compression is on the high side. 2XU are rated at 18-30mmHg, and this definitely feels like a 20-30mmHg compression stocking. Great elasticity in the length. These socks would comfortably fit someone with a leg a couple of inches shorter or longer than mine.
